Machop Get! Will Kronis

Will kneeled down on the ground to look the Machop in the eyes. "Hi there, little guy! My name's Will, that's Chili, Gale, and Pilot." Chili and Gale bounded over to make greetings, while Pilot flitted joyfully overhead. Will grinned. "I'm glad we're all acquainted. We just need to give you a fitting name." The Machop hopped up and down happily. Will hefted him up in his arms and went down the Route 31 path, Chili and Gale following on the ground and Pilot flying overhead.

Will was happy now, all of his Pokémon were together and enjoying the sunshine. It wasn't too long until they ran into a clearing, where he could see the mouth of Dark Cave and the Sprout Tower poking over the trees in the distance. He was about to go that way when a kid ran over. He introduced himself as Wade, and asked to battle. Well, he isn't COMPLETELY INSANE. Will had scanned his Machop with his PokéDex earlier; it knew Leer, Low Kick, and a super-cool Meditate. Will called him out to battle. "Machop, trip him as he comes in with a Low Kick, take the second Tackle, then Meditate." Will's face lit up as he realized exactly what to call his new friend. "Kickass! That'll be your name, got it guy?" Will thought he was very clever. First name Low, last name Kickass. Low Kickass, or Low Kick Ass. But we'll call him Kickass.

Suprisingly, the Caterpie hopped right over Kickass's Low Kick counter, slamming into him both times. Kickass didn't look too fazed, though, and began to Meditate. Will knew that Meditate would raise Kickass's physical attacking ability, and that was sure to come in handy. Will issued his next orders. "Kickass, ram that thing with two Tackles!"

"Kickass, Leer, then Meditate when it's done!"

"Yeah!" The Leer worked much better than he thought it would-"What the? Stupid String Shot!" Will wanted to go and squish that bug. String Shot was really irking him lately. Will was steaming mad at the bug, but with Wade's orders he had to play it psuedo-defensively. Hm. Maybe he could do both. "Meet its Tackle with your own, then grab his String Shot out of the air and pull!

Machop obviously had more strength to back him up, so he overpowered Caterpie's Tackle. The next part of the plan worked flawlessly as well, Kickass easily grabbing the string out of the air and pulling in Caterpie. Will shouted with joy and gave his orders quickly. "Great job, Kickass! Fling it around with the String Shot, then two Tackles!" Will smiled. He had finally found a counter to that String Shot, although it would only work with Kickass since Kickass had fingers.

Will was about to claw his face off in anger. After this, if he saw one more Caterpie he would burn it and watch its little body wriggle in pain. "Kickass, return!" Will mulled over his party. Pilot would have an aerial ability, but the Caterpie would probably tie it down like before. Chili had the aforementioned burning to death tactic. No no, Chili was the highest leveled member of his party. He should give Gale a turn. He could try out Gale's new move, Flail. "Gale, let's squish this bug! Double Tackles!"

Will watched with anticipation as his elephant Pokémon rammed the evil Caterpie for some nice damage. She charged in one more time, but the Caterpie sprayed its string of despair, tripping her and tying up her feet. Will observed the, ah, STICKY situation she was in, and grinned as a plan came to mind. He hadn't been able to use Flail yet since she wasn't at low health or at a disadvantage, but now he had the perfect chance.

"Gale, when he comes in to Tackle use Flail! You're at a disadvantage and that should boost your power, plus it'll get the string off. Then meet his second Tackle with your own!"

Gale-

Gale struggled with her string, cursing wildly in her mind at the annoying stuff. Goddamn this stuff! She wriggled some more until her trainer's orders echoed throughout the forest. Gale turned her head, and saw the incoming Caterpie. She waited, ready to time it right, until the Caterpie slammed into her. Now! she thought, and she started to Flail around. She felt the String Shot tear off with a joyful rrrriip. Gale also felt her legs and trunk slam into the Caterpie. Free of the string, she hopped up onto all fours, and initiated phase 2 of the plan, ramming the Caterpie. She awaited Will's next orders, which came quickly. "Gale, Tackle then Defense Curl, but if he uses String Shot use Flail if he comes in again."

Will-

Will widened his eyes in surprise as the Caterpie bit Gale in an unexpected twist. Will didn't quite recognize the attack but theorized that it was stronger than a normal Tackle. Gale seemed to be in pain as well, but the next attack was luckily buffered by a Defense Curl. By Wade's new orders, Will had a great idea. If one more Flail won't bring it down, then another two definitely will.

Will gave his orders. "Gale, let him String Shot you, then Flail as he comes in to bite you. Flail one more time if he isn't finished!"

Will was about to leap forward and come to Gale's rescue as she took another painful Bug Bite, but he kept himself back as he witnessed Gale's close win. He cheered for joy and nearly forgot about Wade as he ran over and hefted Gale up. "Good fight Gale, take a rest." He returned Gale to her PokéBall, then gratefully accepted Wade's 350 dollar prize.

Will leafed through the wad of bills, counting them up to 350. He looked in awe at the looming Dark Cave, but decided against stopping there with his lack of Pokémon. Instead, Will decided to advance onward to Violet City to heal and replenish.

"MOTHERFLACKING CATERPIES!" Will screamed at it. Running over to stomp on it, it easily avoided him. Tearing off Chili's PokéBall, he tossed it at the Caterpie. Chili appeared in a small flash of light, with a happy bark. "Cynda-" He was soon cut off though, as Will shouted at the top of his lungs. "FLAME WHEEL! THEN FLAME WHEEL! MURDERIZE IT!" A little intimidated at the sight of his trainer so pumped up, Chili turned to the Caterpie and prepared to attack.

Will calmed down a bit, but still had murder on the brain. He allowed himself to take a few moments to think before ordering, didn't want Chili to faint from too much energy use. "Chili, Leer followed by Flame Wheel! Destroy it!"

He felt a nagging thought in the back of his conscience that he might be bullying the Caterpie a bit too much. Will quickly shoved the thought away, however, as he turned to watch Chili take it down.
