Route 30

North of Cherrygrove is Route 30, a long, grassy route that passes through a deciduous forest. Be careful for the bug Pokémon and the wary trainers!

A continuation of Route 30. Plenty of trees around and even a small pond. There is also the Dark Cave, though it looks a little spooky to visit if you’re just starting out. A guardhouse at the end will take you to Violet City.

Violet City

Violet City is the first major city you’ll come across in your adventures. There’s plenty to see and do, such as the Pokémon Trainer’s School, Sprout Tower, the Pokémon Center, Pokémart, and the Violet City Gym!

Route 36 [East]

Route 36 is a grassy area that is surrounded by thick trees, some of which might even be so dense that it is impossible to find a path. To the south lie the Ruins of Alph.

Ruins of Alph

Not much is known about the Ruins of Alph, other than that there are several different chambers filled with mysterious hieroglyphs and rumors of mystical Pokémon that inhabit them.

Route 32

To the south of Violet City lies the winding Route 32. Though it is mostly grassy, the route touches the ocean, which makes it great for fishing on the docks. The Ruins of Alph are to the west, and to the south is a mountainous area with a Pokemon Center if the battles get too intense; a great place to rest before venturing into Union Cave as well.
