An Abracadabra Adventure

Description: I need passage through the Dark Woods. I find it humiliating to ask the help of a...rescue team, but seeing as my species is not one quite accustomed to heavy offensive, I do require help. Meet me at the edge of Dark Woods. I will be the Abra waiting there.

Nonchalantly walking towards the dim, gloomy woods, Malia and Moanna both took a quick glance around the entrance for their client that needed to be escorted. Finally spotting the mystical humanshape, Malia eagerly skittered toward him before glancing behind her to see if Moanna was following. Meeting up with her friend, Moanna cleared her throat before addressing the Abra. "Ahem. Hello, sir. I'm Moanna, and this is Malia," she gestured to the cheerful bug beside her, "and we will be escorting you to your favored destination. Please forgive any mistakes we make, and we'll try our best to satisfy your needs. Is there anything you'd like us to know before we set off?"
"Wait, you brought our items, right Moanna?" whispered Malia.
Opening the small bag tied at her hips, Moanna showed it's contents to Malia.
It held:
3 Oran Berries
2 Pecha Berries

"Hmph," said the grumpy Abra. "I see you have your badge, so you must be qualified... I suppose." He made a gesture with a wave of his hand pointing towards some direction I'm too lazy to specify (let's say west.) "I'll need to be exiting over there. I'll stay between you two." The group started off...west through the forest. Suspicious sounds piqued their interest, but they had to focus on the mission.

It wasn't long before something attention-grabbing happened. High-pitched wailing could be heard from afar, growing louder and louder before the source of the noise burst out of the bush and rammed into Moanna. The Ledyba turned around, the color drained form its face. "P-p-please help me!" it stuttered. "He's... he's trying to rob me!" Soon another Pokemon, this one a more menacing-looking Poocheyena, came into view. "An Exploration Team!?" The dark-type bared its teeth. "Fools!" The Abra was taken aback. "Oh dear," he said before disappearing with a flash. He quickly reappeared up the nearest tree. "Let's see how fit you two are of the title 'Exploration Team'!" The Ledyba soon joined him there, still whimpering. It seemed Malia and Moanna will have to fight off the Poocheyena!

Make your move, before he does!

After being introduce to the... suspicious Abra they'd be helping for now, Malia and Moanna both wanted to show him that they were credible and competent pokemon. Throughout the first steps to the western edge of the forest, eerie and indistinct sounds were heard, and Malia looked up at Moanna for reassurance. Suddenly; a Ledyba had been zooming towards the two explores, wailing and screeching, and eventually knocked into Moanna. Before she could say anything, the pale-faced insect shakily stuttered, "P-p-please help me! He's... trying to rob me!" Searching through their wooded surroundings, the two explorers saw the malevolent Poochyena appear from the shadows, his presence urging the Abra and Ledyba to seek refuge upon the nearest tree. Wanting to test Malia and Moanna, the Poochyena barked, "Let's see how fit you two are of the title 'Exploration Team'!"

"Moanna!" Malia murmured, "Do whatever you need to, I'll keep him busy with a pair of Bubbles!"

Alright, thought Moanna, I'll Meditate before following up on Malia's second bubble with a Tackle.

After a short exchange, Malia spits out several Bubbles that pop in Poocheyena's face and deal a good amount of damage. Shaking the water from his fur, the black wolf Pokemon glares at Malia and unleashes an ear-splitting Howl. This interrupts Moanna's Meditation, as she gets back up with only half a boost. His spirits boosted, the Poocheyena dives foward at Malia in a Tackle. She tries to counter with a Bubble, but the attack cannot stop his momentum as Poocheyena crashes into Malia. He is quickly thrown off by a Tackle from Moanna.

Malia took good damage there, still has plenty of life left in her though. Energy use was fairly considerable, though she's not tired yet. Moanna took no damage and used about half the energy of Malia. Moanna's got half a Meditate boost.

The Poocheyena has a full attack boost thanks to the Howl, and suffered quite a bit of damage from those Bubbles and Tackle. He didn't used too much energy.

With a growl, the Poocheyena dives toward Moanna in a full-body Tackle.

The aftermath of the exchange of attacks showed that it was nebulous as to who would come out on top in this scrap. The Poochyena had suffered from being battered by the Bubbles and Tackle, but had a full attack boost from the Howl. Moanna and Malia both seemed to be better of than their foe, but that could soon change now that the Poochyena now that he was sprinting towards Moanna in a full-bodied tackle. Malia quickly prepared a solution to the situation, and hissed at her comrade, "There's not much else I can do, so I'll keep up the Double Bubble treatment, but dodge his Tackle and give him one of your own!"

Malia prepared to spit a small burst of Bubbles at the Poochyena, and Moanna took a defensive stance as she prepared to dart away from the attack.

Malia takes a stance and stares at the charging Poochyena. Moanna shoots several Bubbles at him, which Malia takes as her signal to dive to the side, narrowly dodging the attack. She follows up by slamming into the Poochyena herself. Another barrage of bubbles later, and Poochyena turns toward Malia. Growling, he slams into her and deals a nice hit with the boost.

Malia's energy was pretty considerable once again, and could use a slightly less-active round. Took a nice hit. Moanna avoided damage and used up good energy.

Poochyena isn't doing so great. More painful hits send him spiraling down to just below 1/2 now. Energy use was ok.
