While not the largest role, abilities are a part of Pokémon Revolution, and as such they may have different uses than you might be used to from the games. If you have any questions regarding what an ability does in roleplay form, please ask about it here.

Adaptability:
The Pokémon is able to adapt their own natural typing to different situations, strengthening the power of attacks that correspond to the Pokémon's type.

Aftermath:
Once the Pokémon faints, they release a small explosion of their remaining energy that hits any Pokémon nearby in a close radius.

Air Lock:
The Pokémon has incredible power over the weather and uses it to clear any weather effects that surround the area while it is in battle. The area becomes like the eye of a storm, and when the Pokémon leaves the battle, weather effects will resume.

Anger Point:
When the Pokémon is hit especially hard, their adrenaline sends them into a rage-like state where their attack power is heightened. This is different from a Taunt state, as the Pokémon is still able to use non-attacking moves.

Anticipation:
The Pokémon has great instincts to sense when the opponent is about to use a move that is super effective against it and heightens its ability to dodge the attack.

Arena Trap:
If the opponent attempts to flee the battle, the Pokémon is able to rapidly burrow a tunnel to appear before them and prevent them from escaping. This ability does not work on Pokémon that can fly or hover above the ground.

Bad Dreams:
The Pokémon has the ability to manipulate dreams, so whenever an opponent is under the Sleep condition, they will have haunting dreams that drain their health until they awaken.

Battle Armor:
The Pokémon is coated in a tough, natural layer of plates that serve as armor to protect their weak points from receiving critical damage.

Blaze:
When the Pokémon's health becomes low, the power of their Fire type attacks is greatly increased.

Chlorophyll:
This ability can only take effect during strong sunlight. Enhanced photosynthesis allows the Pokémon to have more energy to spend moving, and thus increases their speed greatly.

Clear Body:
The Pokémon has a very focused or emotionless disposition when it is in battle, and does not let anything the opponent does drop its guard or weaken it.

Cloud Nine:
The Pokémon gains the ability to manipulate the weather in such a way that all weather effects are cleared in a radius about the size of the battlefield. The area becomes like the eye of a storm, and when the Pokémon leaves the battle, weather effects will resume.

Color Change:
The Pokémon's body has an active camouflage that alters the Pokémon's cells to blend in with the type of attack that previously made contact with it.

Compoundeyes:
The Pokémon's eyes are split into a series of components that are able to see multiple angles at a time, which allows them to have a greater view of the battle and thus are able to attack more accurately.

Cute Charm:
If an opponent with the opposite gender makes contact with the Pokémon, they will release pheromones that can occasionally attract the opponent.

Damp:
The Pokémon's skin produces water that is released from the body in the form of great humidity. This has an effect on Pokémon who are in the pre-Explosion or Self Destruct stage and causes them to cool off and become unable to explode.

Download:
The Pokémon uses a computer-like database in its memory to analyze the opposing Pokémon and adjust their attack power to best counter the opponent's defenses.

Drizzle:
The Pokémon has incredible power over the weather and uses it to summon a rain storm whenever it is in battle. The rain is so strong that it does not wear off until after the battle is over.

Drought:
The Pokémon has incredible power over the weather and uses it to summon strong sunlight whenever it is in battle. The sun is so strong that it does not wear off until after the battle is over.

Dry Skin:
The Pokémon's skin is naturally very dry, so if it comes in contact with any kind of moisture, Water attacks or rain, it feels refreshed. However, intense heat from strong sunlight or Fire attacks hurt the Pokémon much more than normal.

Early Bird:
The Pokémon is instinctively used to waking up at early hours, and because of this, they have the ability to sleep for a shorter period of time, even if they are put to sleep against their will.

Effect Spore:
The Pokémon has a pocket where they store special spores on their body (usually a mushroom), and when made contact by the opponent, there is a chance that some spores can be shaken loose and inflict a status condition on the opponent.

Filter:
The Pokémon subconsciously has a barrier-like force field around it at all times that automatically activates when the Pokémon is hit by a super effective attack and filters out some of the damage.

Flame Body:
The Pokémon's natural body temperature is so hot that its skin is constantly warm enough to occasionally cause a burn if made contact with.

Flash Fire:
The Pokémon has a pocket of fire energy in their body that neutralizes Fire attacks on impact and then fuels its own Fire attacks to become stronger.

Flower Gift:
This ability can only take effect during strong sunlight. Enhanced photosynthesis allows the Pokémon to store extra energy in its petals or leaves and it then breaks off shares some of those with its allies in battle in which they can use to power up their attacks.

Forecast:
This ability allows the Pokémon Castform to change its type and form to match the current weather condition. It only works during a rain storm, hail storm, or strong sunlight.

Forewarn:
The Pokémon uses precognitive powers to predict when the opponent is about to unleash a powerful attack and alerts the user to it.

Frisk:
The Pokémon uses either very good vision or quick hands to locate a held item if the opponent is holding one and identify it to their trainer. The Pokémon is also very good at spotting things during an adventure.

Gluttony:
The Pokémon is accustomed to eating more often than usual, and is inclined to eat a held Berry quicker than a Pokémon usually would.

Guts:
When inflicted with a status condition, the Pokémon wills itself to overcome its obstacle and motivates itself to become even stronger than before.

Heatproof:
The Pokémon's body is capable of withstanding very high temperatures and is not bothered by intense heat, so the damage it receives from Fire attacks is greatly weakened.

Honey Gather:
The Pokémon can be likely to go collect Honey after a battle is over. Pokémon with this ability are also able to find Berries and Apricorns after battle depending on the region they are in.

Huge Power:
The Pokémon contains a massive amount of internal power that they can call upon in battle to greatly strengthen their attacks. However, attacks take a one second charge up time if this ability is used.

Hustle:
The Pokémon becomes rushed in battle so much that their physical attacks hit much harder, but are prone to not looking where they are attacking on occasion.

Hydration:
This ability can only take effect when it is raining. The Pokémon is able to use the constant flow of rain to quickly treat and wash away any status affliction before it becomes too severe to take hold.

Hyper Cutter:
Because the Pokémon is naturally armed with an appendage on its body that is capable of slicing or cutting for great damage, they are extremely unlikely to become intimidated by anything that tries to weaken their attack power.

Ice Body:
This ability can only take effect during a snow or hail storm. The Pokémon's body has naturally very thick and insulated skin to protect it from cold temperatures so much that when snow or hail gathers on it, the Pokémon feels refreshed instead.

Lightningrod:
The Pokémon contains a prominent fixture on their body that is capable of drawing all electrical attacks to it.

Limber:
The Pokémon has a naturally very flexible body which allows it to bend in ways impossible to other Pokémon and thus shake off any kind of paralysis.

Liquid Ooze:
The Pokémon's body consists of a gel-like fluid that contains chemicals otherwise poisonous to other Pokémon. When inflicted by an opponent's health-draining move, the opponent is injured instead of healed.

Magic Guard:
The Pokémon has a celestial protection from damage that doesn't directly come from the opponent.

Magma Armor:
The Pokémon's natural body temperature is so hot that its skin is constantly warm enough to become incapable of getting frozen.

The Pokémon draws power for all its attacks from a natural, Normal type energy source in order to save energy. The attacks retain the same effects as they normally would, but damage is treated as if its attacks were Normal type.

Oblivious:
The Pokémon tends to be on the slow side and is incapable of noticing any advances from the opposing Pokémon, thus making them unable to be put under the Attract condition.

Overgrow:
When the Pokémon's health becomes low, the power of their Grass type attacks is greatly increased.

Rock Head:
The Pokémon has incredibly tough skin, especially in the head region that prevents them from feeling any kind of damage when using a recoil-inducing attack.

Shell Armor:
The Pokémon's body is protected naturally by a tough outer shell or exoskeleton to protect their weak points from receiving critical damage.

Shield Dust:

Skill Link:
The Pokémon is quite skilled at predicting the opponent's movements so that it can attack them with rapid succession attacks at maximum efficiency.

Slow Start:

Sniper:
The Pokémon is able to spot the opponent's weak spot so that it is more likely to deal critical damage to them.

Snow Cloak:
This ability can only take effect during a snow or hail storm. The Pokémon's body is able to naturally gather snow or hail on its skin in such a way that does not hinder its movements but instead creates a camouflage that makes them harder to see by the opponent.

Speed Boost:
The Pokémon uses its speed in battle to constantly gain momentum as it attacks and make itself even faster than before. However, if the Pokémon is stopped, they must start over again with building up speed.

Stall:
The Pokémon instinctively has a tendency to wait for the opponent to make their move first and then strike at the opportune moment, increasing the impact of its attacks.

Technician:
The Pokémon is able to tweak their weaker attacks in such a way that they become more effective in battle.

Thick Fat:
The Pokémon's body has a natural blubber to insulate their body and keep their body temperature constant. Because of this, they take less damage from hot and cold Fire and Ice attacks.

Tinted Lens:

Torrent:
When the Pokémon's health becomes low, the power of their Water type attacks is greatly increased.

Trace:
Upon entering battle, the Pokémon creates a mental bond with the opponent, causing them to imitate their natural ability to the best they can.

Water Veil:
The Pokémon has pores across their body that secrete water and prevent the Pokémon from becoming burned.

White Smoke:
The Pokémon releases a white smoke from its body that clouds its vision to shield it from opponents' attacks that may try to intimidate or weaken it. However, this does not obstruct its vision to see where the opponent is and does not lower accuracy.

Wonder Guard:
The Pokémon has a mystical shield that protects it from all direct damage that is not super effective.

Wow, that's a lot.... xd As for Leaf Guard, I actually saw something like that happen a couple of weeks ago when I was watching the Discovery Channel. They said that mangroves which grow in salt water divert the toxic salt water to a few leaves that just fall off and die. =P

Let's get started... this might take a while so its your own fault if this cuts into my updating time =P

Insomnia:
The Pokémon is incapable of falling asleep, even on its own accord.

Water Veil:
The Pokémon has pores across their body that secrete water and prevent the Pokémon from becoming burned.

Magma Armor:
The Pokémon's natural body temperature is so hot that its skin is constantly warm enough to become incapable of getting frozen.

Flame Body:
The Pokémon's natural body temperature is so hot that its skin is constantly warm enough to occasionally cause a burn if made contact with.

Hydration:
This ability can only take effect when it is raining. The Pokémon is able to use the constant flow of rain to quickly treat and wash away any status affliction before it becomes too severe to take hold.

Cute Charm:
If an opponent with the opposite gender makes contact with the Pokémon, they will release pheromones that can occasionally attract the opponent.

Pressure:
The Pokémon releases such a powerful pressure, or very imposing will to fight, that it will make the opponent work much harder when they attack, thus making them use more energy.

Plus:
Magnetic energy powers up the Pokémon when a negatively charged Pokémon is nearby.

Minus:
Magnetic energy powers up the Pokémon when a positively charged Pokémon is nearby.

Magic Guard:
The Pokémon has a celestial protection from damage that doesn't directly come from the opponent.

Shadow Tag:
The Pokémon is able to form a mental connection with the opponent so that if they step on the opponent's shadow, they are tricked into believing that they cannot move from that spot.

Skill Link:
The Pokémon is quite skilled at predicting the opponent's movements so that it can attack them with rapid succession attacks at maximum efficiency.

Scrappy:
The Pokémon shares such a joy for battle that it is able to will itself to be able to hit opponents that may even be ethereal.

Wonder Guard:
The Pokémon has a mystical shield that protects it from all direct damage that is not super effective.

Looks like I got through these a lot faster than I thought I would... xD

Via Yougi suggestion, here's a few more~ Razz

Frisk:
The Pokémon uses either very good vision or quick hands to locate a held item if the opponent is holding one and identify it to their trainer. The Pokémon is also very good at spotting things during an adventure.

Ice Body:
This ability can only take effect during a snow or hail storm. The Pokémon's body has naturally very thick and insulated skin to protect it from cold temperatures so much that when snow or hail gathers on it, the Pokémon feels refreshed instead.

Klutz:
The Pokémon has very slippery or uncoordinated hands such that it is very bad with handling objects and is unable to use held items.

Quick Feet:
When inflicted with a status condition, the Pokémon's adrenaline kicks in and makes them faster than they were before.

Storm Drain:
The Pokémon has a sort of damp, sponge-like skin that allows them to suck up Water attacks. This is amplified by an ability to somewhat mimic the moon's pull on the tides which draws Water attacks in.

Liquid Ooze:
The Pokémon's body consists of a gel-like fluid that contains chemicals otherwise poisonous to other Pokémon. When inflicted by an opponent's health-draining move, the opponent is injured instead of healed.

Compoundeyes:
The Pokémon's eyes are split into a series of components that are able to see multiple angles at a time, which allows them to have a greater view of the battle and thus are able to attack more accurately.

No Guard:
The Pokémon is able to will itself and the opponent to match up with each other and see who is the stronger of the two by not attempting to dodge any attack.

Poison Heal:
The Pokémon's body has the ability to naturally decompose compounds of toxins and convert them into positive energy which can repair injuries.

Rock Head:
The Pokémon has incredibly tough skin, especially in the head region that prevents them from feeling any kind of damage when using a recoil-inducing attack.

Oblivious:
The Pokémon tends to be on the slow side and is incapable of noticing any advances from the opposing Pokémon, thus making them unable to be put under the Attract condition.

Download:
The Pokémon uses a computer-like database in its memory to analyze the opposing Pokémon and adjust their attack power to best counter the opponent's defenses.

Clear Body:
The Pokémon has a very focused or emotionless disposition when it is in battle, and does not let anything the opponent does drop its guard or weaken it.

The Abilitydex Empty Re: The Abilitydex

Post by Gary Mon Aug 09, 2010 3:48 pm

Here you go, and here's a couple of others that Kin mentioned on the other page and must have added them in after I was already busy working on his list >=o

Color Change:
The Pokémon's body has an active camouflage that alters the Pokémon's cells to blend in with the type of attack that previously made contact with it.

Damp:
The Pokémon's skin produces water that is released from the body in the form of great humidity. This has an effect on Pokémon who are in the pre-Explosion or Self Destruct stage and causes them to cool off and become unable to explode.

Cloud Nine:
The Pokémon gains the ability to manipulate the weather in such a way that all weather effects are cleared in a radius about the size of the battlefield. The area becomes like the eye of a storm, and when the Pokémon leaves the battle, weather effects will resume.

Anticipation:
The Pokémon has great instincts to sense when the opponent is about to use a move that is super effective against it and heightens its ability to dodge the attack.

Aftermath:
Once the Pokémon faints, they release a small explosion of their remaining energy that hits any Pokémon nearby in a close radius.

Tinted Lens:
The Pokémon's eyes have a special tint that can identify what type an opposing Pokémon is and then adjust their attacks that would normally be not very effective so that they are stronger.

Speed Boost:
The Pokémon uses its speed in battle to constantly gain momentum as it attacks and make itself even faster than before. However, if the Pokémon is stopped, they must start over again with building up speed.

Normalize:
The Pokémon draws power for all its attacks from a natural, Normal type energy source in order to save energy. The attacks retain the same effects as they normally would, but damage is treated as if its attacks were Normal type.

Lightningrod:
The Pokémon contains a prominent fixture on their body that is capable of drawing all electrical attacks to it.

Shield Dust:
The Pokémon naturally produces a thin cloud of dust around it that filters attacks coming from an opponent and removes any kind of added effect that could afflict the Pokémon.

Arena Trap:
If the opponent attempts to flee the battle, the Pokémon is able to rapidly burrow a tunnel to appear before them and prevent them from escaping. This ability does not work on Pokémon that can fly or hover above the ground.

Immunity:
The Pokémon has a an incredibly high immune system and is naturally unaffected by any kind of toxin.

Heatproof:
The Pokémon's body is capable of withstanding very high temperatures and is not bothered by intense heat, so the damage it receives from Fire attacks is greatly weakened.

Snow Warning:
The Pokémon's body requires that it stay in a very cold climate or else it will burn energy too fast, so it subconsciously summons a hail storm every time it is sent out to battle.

Solar Power:
This ability can only take effect during strong sunlight. Enhanced photosynthesis allows the Pokémon to increase its special attacks to much greater power at the expense of drying itself out much quicker and thus draining its health slowly.

The Abilitydex Empty Re: The Abilitydex

Post by Gary Tue Aug 10, 2010 10:02 am

I will. Razz

Battle Armor:
The Pokémon is coated in a tough, natural layer of plates that serve as armor to protect their weak points from receiving critical damage.

Static:
The Pokémon has a natural electrical current coursing through their body, so the static shock may paralyze a foe that makes physical contact with them.

Levitate:
The Pokémon has the natural ability to hover above the ground. This enables them to be immune to Ground attacks like Earthquake and are much quicker to dodge projectile Ground attacks like Mud Shot. Levitating Pokémon are also immune to Arena Trap and attacks similar to Spikes.

Suction Cups:
The Pokémon uses a series of suction cups under their legs to prevent attacks that would knock them back or force them to retreat. However, this greatly limits the Pokémon's maneuverability.

Huge Power:
The Pokémon contains a massive amount of internal power that they can call upon in battle to greatly strengthen their attacks. However, attacks take a one second charge up time if this ability is used.

Thick Fat:
The Pokémon's body has a natural blubber to insulate their body and keep their body temperature constant. Because of this, they take less damage from hot and cold Fire and Ice attacks.

Mold Breaker:
When the Pokémon attacks, they do so with such an intensity that it makes the opponent focus on the attack and temporarily forget what their own natural ability is for the duration of the Pokémon's attack.

Rivalry:
The Pokémon's hormones cause their aggressiveness to rise if facing against a foe of the same gender and causes them to become weaker when fighting against a foe with the opposite gender. Non-gender opponents don't effect the Pokémon in any way.

Dry Skin:
The Pokémon's skin is naturally very dry, so if it comes in contact with any kind of moisture, Water attacks or rain, it feels refreshed. However, intense heat from strong sunlight or Fire attacks hurt the Pokémon much more than normal.
